Add Baltimore to the fall schedule

I wrote a few days back that I was deciding whether to add the Under Armour Baltimore Marathon to my fall race schedule, well, I decided to do it. I thought about the lag time between the first and second marathons in the fall ... the first being mid september, the last being later in November.. it seemed to fit right smack in the middle of the two..

I read that there were some challenges last year in the race reviews, but overall its a nice race. It actually gives a little more challenge than the other two races, which are mainly flat or downhill, this actually has some hills. Its a good replacement race for Steamtown, which i've done 3 years in a row now and just has lost its originality for me. I think the first time you do it, its a great experience (remember, it was my first marathon), but then the thrill wears off...

Regardless, it'll be a bit of a change since this race is on a Saturday, not a Sunday .. i'm not sure i've ever run a long race on a Saturday morning, it'll be different. That means we'll head down Friday to the expo at the M&T stadium and leave after the race Saturday. Maybe we'll get some time to site-see as well while we're there.

Just finished up my 6 mile speed workout ... did 6x800m at 3:35/800m with an 800m in between. I was good up until the end when I started to die out, but I pushed it. Next week we'll add another mile since we've been doing this distance for a few weeks, we'll start to get out of 'distance' phase and into the 'speed' phase, hold on!
